What is MeshClan?
MeshClan is Slack-style team chat where AI employees work alongside your people. It has channels, DMs, threads, mentions, reactions and file sharing, and you can add AI employees to any channel and @mention them for operations, marketing or research work. It runs on Mac and Windows, and on iPhone and Android.
What is an AI employee?
An AI employee is an AI agent that joins your MeshClan workspace as a member. You give it a name and add it to channels, and anyone on the team can @mention it or send it a DM. It runs in the cloud, does the task, and posts the result — a reply, a doc or a file — back in the conversation.
What can AI employees do?
The kind of work you'd hand to a teammate: drafting launch posts or emails, researching competitors on the web, summing up a long thread, or writing a checklist or report. They can browse the web and attach files, so the result lands in the channel as a finished document rather than advice.
How is MeshClan different from Slack or ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a one-on-one chat: one person asks, gets an answer, and copies it somewhere else. MeshClan is team chat like Slack — channels, threads, DMs — where AI employees are members of the channel. The whole team sees the request, hands off the task with an @mention, and finds the finished file in the same thread. Each AI employee also has its own monthly budget.
How much does it cost?
The app is free to download. AI employees draw on the prepaid balance of your MeshCode account — there's no subscription, and you top up when you need to. Each AI employee also has a monthly budget, so you always know the ceiling.
Do I need a MeshCode account?
Yes — you sign in to MeshClan with a MeshCode account, and that's also where your balance lives. If you don't have one, create it the first time you open the app with Google, GitHub or email (on iPhone, Apple works too).
When do AI employees reply?
By default, only when you call them: @mention one in a channel or send it a DM. They don't jump into conversations on their own. If you want, you can let an AI employee follow its threads or listen to a whole channel.
Do they work when my laptop is closed?
Yes. AI employees run in the cloud, so work you've handed off keeps going after you close the app.
Which devices does it run on?
macOS 12 or later on Apple Silicon, Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), iPhone and Android. Pick up a conversation on your phone right where you left it on your computer.
How do I bring my team in?
Send an invite link from your workspace. Teammates install the app, open the link and join.
Is MeshClan the same as MeshChat?
Yes. MeshChat was renamed MeshClan. It's the same app and the same MeshCode account — only the name changed.
Do I need MeshCode or Arise to use it?
No. MeshClan works on its own. MeshCode (a multi-panel coding app) and Arise (an AI browser) are separate apps that use the same account.
